What are the main characteristics of quartz glass sheets?

Quartz glass sheet is made of high-purity fused silica. It has an ultra-low thermal expansion coefficient, allowing continuous working temperature up to 1100°C and great resistance to thermal shock. It offers excellent light transmittance from deep UV to near infrared, superior acid corrosion resistance and stable high-temperature electrical insulation. It can be precision machined with controlled bubbles and striae.

Where are quartz glass sheets commonly applied?

Quartz glass sheets are widely used in UV optical windows, spectrometer components, semiconductor observation windows, wafer carrier plates, laboratory reaction sight windows, UV disinfection lamp covers, and serve as raw blanks for custom cutting, drilling and polishing of optical parts.

What is the difference between quartz glass sheet and ordinary glass sheet?

Ordinary glass cannot bear high temperature or deep ultraviolet rays and is easy to crack during rapid temperature change. By contrast, quartz glass sheet features outstanding heat resistance, deep UV transmission and corrosion resistance, which makes it suitable for high-temperature and optical precision scenarios.

Can quartz glass sheets be customized according to drawings?

Yes. We provide custom cutting, drilling, chamfering, cold polishing and fire polishing. We can control thickness and dimension tolerance as required. JGS1 and JGS2 grades are available, and samples can be offered for your testing.

Is quartz glass sheet easy to break?

Quartz glass is a brittle material, so it may crack under sharp impact. But it performs much better than regular glass when facing sudden temperature changes. Careful handling and installation are required.
